Health Minister Veena George corrected that the increase in attacks against doctors has been noticed. With the special permission of the Speaker, the revised reply was placed on the table of the House.

The minister in a written reply to the assembly on August 4 said she had not noticed the increase in attacks from the relatives of patients. This had sparked a controversy.

Doctors' organizations and the opposition slammed the health minister's remarks. The health minister then called a press conference to explain the incident. The minister explained that a technical error had occurred and that there was confusion between the two sections.

Vaccination will be stopped if no action is taken: IMA
The Indian Medical Association came to the fore against Health Minister Veena George's reply that she has not noticed the attacks towards doctors. The IMA president said that all the attacks happened after Veena George took over as health minister and if no action is taken against the accused everything will come to a standstill including the vaccination drive. A decision would be taken after consultation with the state committee.

The IMA is protesting in front of the Aluva SP office over the delay in arrests for the attacks against health workers. Although it was clear who were the culprits in the Kuttanad incident, no action was taken by the police. The assurances given by the chief minister are not followed. How is it possible to work with courage, asked the representatives of IMA?
