THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 20,452 COVID-19 cases on Friday. Among these, 19,328 persons developed the disease through contact, including 960 cases without an identified source of infection. 63 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 101 health workers contracted the disease on Friday.

16,856 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,80,000 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 114 deaths due to the virus on Friday with the toll rising to 18,394.

Malappuram 3010, Kozhikode 2426, Ernakulam 2388, Thrissur 2384, Palakkad 1930, Kannur 1472, Kollam 1378, Thiruvananthapuram 1070, Kottayam 1032, Alappuzha 998, Pathanamthitta 719, Kasargod 600, Wayanad 547, Idukki 498.

1,42,501 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 14.35.
