THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state will launch a travel card called 'Gods on Travel' (GOT) ahead of the implementation of the central government's 'One Nation One Card' scheme. A single card is sufficient for all journeys such as bus, autorickshaw, taxi car, metro rail and boat.
The project will be implemented first in Ernakulam and then in other districts by the end of this year. When the Central Government launches the 'One Country One Card' scheme in the neighboring states, the components of the Central Card will be added to the GOT. With this, you can travel across the country with one card and access services.
The rechargeable GOT card scheme will be implemented in collaboration with SBI. SBI has also submitted a model scheme of one country one card to the state government.
On March 4, 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi came up with the idea of one card instead of many. Then came the National Common Mobility Card (NCM Card). Such cards have been issued to MPs in the Nagpur and Nashik metros and in Parliament. This is a card developed by SBI for Kerala that can include other services.
