THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 12,294 COVID-19 cases on Monday. Among these, 11,425 persons developed the disease through contact, including 729 cases without an identified source of infection. 68 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 72 health workers contracted the disease on Monday.

18,542 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,72,239 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 142 deaths due to the virus on Monday with the toll rising to 18,743.

87,578 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 14.03.
