THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 21,427 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Among these, 20,262 persons developed the disease through contact, including 971 cases without an identified source of infection. 108 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 86 health workers contracted the disease on Wednesday.

18,731 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,77,683 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 179 deaths due to the virus on Wednesday with the toll rising to 19,049.

Malappuram 3089, Kozhikode 282, Ernakulam 2636, Thrissur 2307, Palakkad 1924, Kannur 1326, Kollam 1311, Thiruvananthapuram 1163, Kottayam 1133, Alappuzha 1005, Idukki 773, Pathanamthitta 773, Kasaragod 607, Wayanad 559.

1,38,225 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 15.5.
