THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 20,224 COVID-19 cases on Friday. Among these, 19,205 persons developed the disease through contact, including 785 cases without an identified source of infection. 137 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 97 health workers contracted the disease on Friday.

17,142 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,82,285 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 99 deaths due to the virus on Friday with the toll rising to 19,345.

District wise breakup of positive cases:
Thrissur 2795, Ernakulam 2707, Kozhikode 2705, Malappuram 2611, Palakkad 1528, Kollam 1478, Alappuzha 1135, Kottayam 1115, Kannur 1034, Thiruvananthapuram 835, Pathanamthitta 797, Wayanad 524, Idukki 520 and Kasaragod 440.

1,19,385 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 16.94.
