KABUL: A recent report claimed that the Taliban has executed Omar Khorasani, former head of Islamic State in South Asia. It is learnt that Khorasani was captured from an Afghan government prison and executed. Khorasani, also known as Zia ul Haq, was an active member of ISIS in Afghanistan since 2015. He was captured by Afghan security forces in 2020. He was jailed in the Pul E Charkh prison from where the Taliban captured him.
