service-report

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Retaliation of superiors will no longer take place like changing the confidential report of the officer who provided details under the Right to Information Act in connection with the controversial tree felling order. Chief Secretary VP Joy has directed that the confidential report and score of the officers should be submitted online only. These will be received by the officer after the due date.

The move is to improve the service of the officers in the new situation and increase their confidence.

At the same time, the Department of Public Administration has ordered government employees to enter property information into SPARK software to discourage dowry. This order is also crucial for employees as giving false information can backfire in future Lokayukta and vigilance complaints.

It has been more than ten years since the computerization of the government system. But online administration is limited to a few departments, including transport, local government, secretariat, police, forestry and wildlife conservation. In other departments it is a method of writing and handing over on paper. The Chief Secretary has strongly suggested that this should be changed and that reports should be submitted online only.
