THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the Left Front government is well aware that it cannot go ahead by forgetting Sree Narayana Guru and his messages and this recognition can be seen in the actions of the government. He was inaugurating the 167th Sree Narayana Guru Jayanti celebrations online at Chempazhanthi Gurukulam.
"This government, which recognized the value of the Guru consecrating a Siva idol at Aruvippuram, appointed non-Brahmins as priests in temples. When the first open university in Kerala was established, we did not have to think twice to name it after Sree Narayana Guru. We have many gurus who have worked in the spiritual field. But there is only one person who has used that
activity as a weapon to change the history of his homeland. That is Sree Narayana Guru," the CM said.
"Sree Narayana Guru interacted with the great messages of humanity in a society where humanity was absent. His message 'strengthen through organisation' not only changed the Ezhava community but Kerala as a whole. The awakening of the new consciousness created by Sree Narayana Guru's principles in the Ezhava community spread to other communities as well. The
Yogakshema Sabha was formed to end the ritual obsolescence of the Namboothiri community. NSS was formed in the Nair community. Sree Narayana Guru's thoughts inspired all this. 'Daiva Dasakam' contains content that is equally acceptable to all religions. It has become a community prayer in Kerala. Sree Narayana Guru Jayanti and Chathayam day celebrations will give impetus to the struggle to create a Kerala free from superstitions, superstitions and racial prejudices," he added.
Kadakampally Surendran MLA presided over the function. Ministers GR Anil, Chinchu Rani, Swami Subhangananda, MLAs V Joy, VK Prashanth, former Devaswom Board member KP Sankaradas and Councilor Chempazhanthy Udayan were present.
