THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Labour Minister V Sivankutty directed to investigate and submit a report on the incident in which the fish basket of an elderly woman who was selling it on the wayside at Karamana in the capital city was thrown off. The minister asked the district labour officer to submit a report after investigating the incident. The minister demanded the district labour officer to submit the report at the earliest after an investigation.

The incident happened last evening on the opposite side of the Madan Kovil on the national highway within the limits of the Karamana police station. The cops of Karamana police station threw the fish basket of Mary Pushpam, a native of Valiyathura and another woman who were selling fish on the wayside. The women said their baskets were thrown by the sub inspector of Karamana station and another policeman.

As soon as the incident happened, the women lodged a complaint to Minister Antony Raju. Police officials who reached the spot said steps will be taken after examining the CCTV footages of the incident.
