KABUL: The Taliban have stopped 140 Afghan Sikh pilgrims who were scheduled to travel to India from Kabul. The group was scheduled to travel to India to attend celebrations organised to commemorate the 400th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur. According to sources, the group was denied access to the Kabul airport.

Parthap Singh, President, Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Gurudwara, said that a kirtan durbar was organized in connection with the birthday celebrations of Guru Tegh Bahadur and that Sikhs from all over the world reach Delhi to attend the celebrations. However, Sikh pilgrims from Afghanistan could not attend the ceremony as the Taliban militants denied them access to the Kabul airport at the last minute.
