THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 32,801 COVID-19 cases on Friday. Among these, 31,281 persons developed the disease through contact, including 1260 cases without an identified source of infection. 144 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 116 health workers contracted the disease on Friday.

18,573 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,95,254 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 179 deaths due to the virus on Friday day with the toll rising to 20,313.

1,70,703 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 19.22.
