KOCHI: A study has shown that people who take a single dose of Covshield vaccine after recovering from Covid have a strong immunity. The study was conducted on 1500 people by Dr Padmanabha Shenoy, a clinical immunologist at a private hospital in Kochi.

This condition is described as 'hybrid immunity'. Such people are more likely to develop 30 times stronger immunity than those who took two doses without any infection.

After a single dose, the body acquires the ability to defeat the virus with a single dose of the vaccine. No second dose is required. The immunity will also last for a long-term.
