THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 29,322 COVID-19 cases on Friday. Among these, 27,874 persons developed the disease through contact, including 1251 cases without an identified source of infection. 79 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 118 health workers contracted the disease on Friday.

22,938 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 2,46,437 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 131 deaths due to the virus on Friday with the toll rising to 21,280 .

Thrissur 3530, Ernakulam 3435, Kozhikode 3344, Kollam 2957, Malappuram 2736, Palakkad 2545, Alappuzha 2086, Thiruvananthapuram 1878, Kottayam 1805, Kannur 1490, Pathanamthitta 1078, Wayanad 1003, Idukki 961, Kasaragod 474.

1,63,691 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 17.91.
