THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 29,682 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, CM Pinarayi Vijayan told the media. Among these, 28,008 persons developed the disease through contact, including 1357 cases without an identified source of infection. 185 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 132 health workers contracted the disease on Saturday.

25,910 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 2,50,065 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 142 deaths due to the virus on Saturday with the toll rising to 21,422.

Thrissur 3474, Ernakulam 3456, Malappuram 3166, Kozhikode 2950, Palakkad 2781, Kollam 2381, Thiruvananthapuram 2314, Kottayam 2080, Alappuzha 1898, Kannur 1562, Pathanamthitta 1154, Idukki 1064, Wayanad 923, Kasaragod 479.

1,69,237 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 17.54.
