KOTTAYAM: Opposition leader V D Satheesan called on former chief minister Oommen Chandy as part of resolving issues in the Congress that began with the appointment of DCC chiefs. The meeting was held at Chandy’s house in Puthuppally. V D Satheesan talking to the media after the meet said that there will be no situation that causes problems to the senior leaders and will move forward by uniting everyone.
Chandy said that he was saddened by the difficult situation related to the reorganization. I agree with opposition leader’s opinion that issues should be resolved through talks. The Congress is a democratic movement. If there is a problem in the party, it should be resolved through discussions. If there are no talks, the problems will get worse, said Chandy. Satheesan had the other day said that one cannot go forward by keeping away Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala who strived hard for the congress and the UDF. Those estranged should be brought back. All the grievances, worries and complaints should be resolved and move forward. Problems can be solved only by thinking from their stand. He said that many of his words were twisted.
It's the beginning of a change in working style. It is not the language of arrogance. We should work eyeing the people. Attitudes need accuracy. The decision is not taken by Satheesan or Sudhakaran alone but by the party as a whole. It is applicable to everyone. Not only election defeat but also victory should be taken into account. The success of 2019 should have been examined. The Congress must prove that it is not a mob but a party respected by the people. It should be convinced that will move from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasargod if the president says. Strength is the support of the activists. The answer will be for Pinarayi and BJP leaders, Satheesan had said the other day.
