THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 30,196 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Among these, 28,617 persons developed the disease through contact, including 1259 cases without an identified source of infection. 190 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 130 health workers contracted the disease on Wednesday.

27,579 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 2,39,480 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 181 deaths due to the virus on Wednesday with the toll rising to 22,001.

1,71,295 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 17.63.
