PALA: Pala MLA Mani C Kappan has come out in support of Pala Bishop in the narcotic jihad controversy. Mani C Kappan opined that no one could be blamed if they suspect that the drug lobby was behind the controversy. It is noteworthy that Mani C Kappan, the MLA of the UDF, came out in support of the bishop at a time when UDF leaders, including the Congress leaders, lashed out at the bishop.

He said in a statement that the state was now witnessing the influx of those interested in distorting the sanctity and purpose of the bishop's speech. Meanwhile, the Diocese of Pala came up with an explanation on the matter. The auxiliary bishop of the diocese explained that the bishop had warned of a dangerous trend in the community.
