THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 17,681 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Among these, 16,656 persons developed the disease through contact, including 881 cases without an identified source of infection. 47 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 97 health workers contracted the disease on Wednesday.

25,588 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,90,750 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 208 deaths due to the virus on Wednesday with the toll rising to 22,987.
