KANJIRAPPALLY: The preliminary post mortem report of a four-month-old baby, who was found dead inside the home, stated that the baby died of suffocation. Police will question the parents today in the incident. The deceased has been identified as Ihan, the only son of Koovappally native Rijo K Babu and Susan.

Only the child and the mother were present at home at the time of the incident. It was Susan who called Rijo over the phone and informed him that the baby was not moving. Following this, the ward member reached the house and rushed the baby to the hospital. Later, the hospital officials confirmed the death. Meanwhile, the relatives came up with a complaint and the body was subsequently sent for postmortem. It is learnt that the baby did not have any other ailments. No traces of torture were found on the body. Kanjirappally police said that more details would be known only after receiving a detailed postmortem report.
