KOTTAYAM: With the death of Nithinamol, a mother with many health problems, has become alone. Nithina was the only hope of the financially backward family. They started living in the 10th ward of Thalayolaparambu seven years ago. The house was constructed by a community organization in Thalayolaparambu to the family consisting of two members only. Neighbours said the woman was estranged from her husband.

Their house was severely damaged in the floods two years ago. The family survives on the meagre income of her mother, who had no significant job.

The neighbours said Nithina’s mother had a lot of health issues and the two left home together this morning. The mother went to the hospital after her daughter took a bus to college.

The neighbours said Nithina's mother used to share everything with them and that she had not told them anything about the threat her daughter faced. Nithina’s mother who heard the news collapsed and is undergoing treatment at the Marian hospital in Pala. Nithina’s body is also kept here in the hospital.
