MALLAPPALLY: Former MLA of Kallooppara CA Mathew (87) passed away. He served as MLA of Kallooppara from 1987 to 1991. He represented Congress(S).

He had served as the Vice President of Kotanad Grama Panchayat for 22 years. He also served as the Chairman of Pathanamthitta DCC (S) and a member of the Board of Directors of Thiruvalla East Co-operative Bank. He was a member of the Travancore University Volleyball Team that won the National Championship in 1957, 1958 and 1959. CA Mathew is survived by his wife Eliyamma Mathew, children Sunil, Suja, Suma and Susha.
