THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The meteorological department has warned of heavy rains for the next five days in the state due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal.
Isolated heavy rain is predicted. Over the next few days, various districts are likely to receive 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rainfall.
The warning was issued on October 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. Yellow alert has been declared in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Alappuzha districts on October 8. Yellow alert was declared in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Idukki districts on Oct 9. The alert has been issued for October 10 in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki districts and on October 11 in Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur and Malappuram districts. Yellow alert is issued in Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts on the 12th.
