police-team

MALAMPUZHA: A team of police officers that set out to bust ganja farming got stranded in the forest. It is learnt that the team from Walayar, including narcotic cell DySP Sreenivas, lost its way in the middle of the forests. Malampuzha CI Sunil Krishnan said that the officers trapped in the jungle were safe.

On Friday, a CI, two SIs, four members of Thunderbolt and four locals went into the woods following a tip-off that there was a ganja plantation in the forest. They lost their way in the evening. The whole group was sitting on the rock all night.

The team left for the forest around 7.30 am yesterday. Sources said that the police officers lost their way due to heavy rains and inclement weather.

An eight-member team from Walayar and a team from Kava in Malampuzha have set out to the forest this morning in search of police officers.
