KOCHI: Anoop V Ahammad, one among the six complainants against antique dealer Monson Mavunkal, has filed a defamation suit against actor Sreenivasan. Anoop's lawyer has sent a notice alleging that Srinivasan had insulted Anoop by calling him a fraud.

Anoop has sought compensation of Rs 1.5 crore from the actor. Anoop complained that Sreenivasan had insulted him in an interview. Meanwhile, the complainants alleged that they are facing threats for filing a complaint against Monson Mavunkal.

Complainants Yakub Purayil, Anoop V Ahammad, MT Shameer and Shanimon Parappan have approached the police seeking protection for their family and property. They said that they have been facing threats and cyberbullying.
