THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rains in the state from Monday. Orange alert has been declared in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam districts on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Rainfall of 124.5 to 244.4 mm is expected here these days. Authorities have sounded alert in areas that are prone to landslides.
Yellow Alert has been issued in ten districts tomorrow and in four districts on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
