KOLLAM: The NCP has expelled several party leaders, including the father of the girl, who had lodged a complaint alleging that Minister AK Saseendran had tried to settle a sexual harassment case involving a party member. The leaders on the complainant's side as well as the accused were expelled from the party for anti-organizational activities.
The party expelled Jayan Puthenpuraikkal (Ernakulam), SV Abdul Salim (Kozhikode), Biju B (Kollam) and Honey Vito (Thrissur) for criticizing the state leadership in the controversy. State committee member Pradeep, who persuaded Saseendran to make a phone call on the issue, and the complainant's father have been expelled from the party for six and a half years. State committee members Padmakaran and Rajeev, who were accused of sexually harassing the girl, were also expelled from the primary membership.
