KOZHIKODE: The Supreme Court has granted bail to Thwaha Fazal in the Pantheerankavu UAPA case. He is the second accused in the case. The court rejected NIA’s demand to revoke the bail of Allen Shuhaib, the first accused in the case.
The case was considered by a bench led by Justice Ajay Rastogi and Justice Sreenivas. The court directed to produce Thwaha Fazal before the trial court at the earliest and complete further proceedings. The full text of the verdict was not read in the court. Only these two relevant parts were read.
The police arrested Thwaha Fazal and Allen Shuhaib as part of Pantheerankavu UAPA case in November 2019. The case was later taken over by the NIA. The two were later granted bail by the trial court.
The high court later cancelled the bail of Thwaha Fazal and upheld the bail of Allen Shuhaib. The Supreme Court today considered the pleas questioning this act.
