THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader VD Satheesan on Thursday responded to the allegation leveled against him by PV Anvar MLA in the Assembly. Earlier, Anvar had alleged that Satheesan was involved in a money chain fraud in Paravur in 1991-92.
"At first, Anvar alleged that I was involved in online fraud. When someone corrected him by reminding him that there was no internet and mobile phone during that time, he alleged that I was involved in a money chain fraud. I came to Paravur in 1996 as a UDF candidate. Before that, I had only gone to Paravur to attend two weddings. Anvar alleged that I had cheated 1000 people during the 91-92 period. I would like to remind him that I was studying for LLM at Government Law College in Thiruvananthapuram during that period," Satheesan said in the assembly.
"Anvar is raising baseless allegations. He even insulted my dead father. The Chief Minister can announce any inquiry into the allegations made by the ruling party MLA. You can insult me ... but you cannot defeat me," Satheesan added.
