Mohanlal starrer Marakkar Arabikkadalinte Simham will not be released in theaters. The Film Chamber's talks with the film's producer Antony Perumbavoor and FEUOK failed. Negotiations failed in the context of the theater owners not agreeing to the requirements, including the minimum guarantee amount.
FEUOK, an association of theatre owners, said the film could get a big offer from the OTT but theater owners cannot afford to pay that much. The theatre owners were of the view that there is no minimum guarantee amount in Malayalam cinema but an advance can be given.
Antony Perumbavoor demanded that if released on OTT, he would get a large sum of money and similarly, at least a minimum guarantee should be given. However, FEUOK said that an advance amount of Rs 10 crore can be given, but the film could not be given a minimum guarantee amount and that they want Marakkar to be released in theatres.
