THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The price of cooking gas has risen steeply as a gift to Kerala on the Kerala Piravi Day. The price has been hiked by Rs 266 per commercial cylinder. The price has not increased so much recently. With the price hike today, the price in Delhi has crossed Rs 2,000 per 19 kg cylinder. However, the price for a domestic cylinder has not increased.
LPG is included in the limits of GST. The centre said that if petrol and diesel is included in the GST, it will lead to a huge reduction in the price. However, neither the centre nor the central BJP has uttered a single word about the sharp rise in cooking gas prices. They are evading questions of the people. The centre is colluding with the oil companies to make a profit even when the people are in a frenzy.
The rise in the price of a commercial cylinder will lead to a huge increase in the price of hotel food. This will affect the common people the most. Meantime, the price of petrol and diesel have increased today as usual. Petrol and diesel prices were hiked by 48 paise. With this, the price of petrol has crossed Rs 112 in the state. In Thiruvananthapuram, petrol is currently priced at Rs 112.25 and in Kozhikode at Rs 110.40. The price of diesel is Rs 105.94 in Thiruvananthapuram and Rs 104.30 in Kozhikode.
