THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC chief K Sudhakaran came down heavily on actor Joju George who protested against the road blockade staged by the congress in Kochi against the hike in fuel prices. The leader addressed the actor as a criminal and a goonda. The actor’s car was damaged in public outburst. It is natural and what surprise is there when a criminal’s vehicle is damaged in public outrage, asked Sudhakaran.
His words
It is regretful that when the public was ready to co-operate with the protests waged by the Congress, a so-called celebrity in the film industry was drunk and resorted to violence. The police should take action against him. The police were not even ready to issue a certificate stating that he was drunk. Women Congress activists are going to file a complaint. It is a reminder that if no action is taken on that complaint, Kerala will have to face a fierce fight tomorrow.
This is not an emotion of the Congress, but the emotion of a nation and the people. If one has no right to express it in a democratic country then what right is there. Blocking the road for an hour against the government who have committed a great injustice, are common in a democracy. Joju behaved like a pucca goonda. Police should take action against Joju for misbehaving with women, said Sudhakaran.
This was Sudhakaran's response when the media asked him about damaging the vehicle of Joju. The vehicle was damaged when he tried to drive the vehicle on to the protesters. Was any other vehicle damaged? If the car of the assailant is damaged, then it is part of a public outcry. What is wrong in that?
People are asking us when to respond. Shouldn’t we react when the opposition accuses us of doing nothing? Isn't that our right? Have we done anything wrong? ' Other things will be decided depending on how the government responds to Joju, a criminal who tried to disrupt the strike, he said.
