IDUKKI: The Mullaperiyar sub-committee will conduct regular inspections at the dam today. The team will leave Thekkady at 10 am and reach the dam by boat. After inspecting the main dam, baby dam and gallery, committee members will record the quantity of the sweepage. The situation will then be assessed.
The water level in the Mullaperiyar dam has dropped to 138.30 ft. At present, the volume of water released through the spillway is 2410.54 cubic feet per second. The average inflow to the dam is 4104.18 cubic feet per second. Tamil Nadu carries 2330 cubic feet to the Vaigai Dam. However, the water level in Idukki Dam has not changed significantly.
