IDUKKI: The water level in the Mullaperiyar dam has risen. The water level in the dam is presently 138.95 feet. The water level rose following the heavy rains that lashed last night. Three shutters are presently opened.

The shutters were raised 60 centimeters each. Three more shutters were raised at 8 am. One, five, and six shutters were raised and water was released. With this, six shutters opened in Mullaperiyar.

3005 cubic feet of water will be released. Presently the dam receives 3,131.96 cubic feet of water secondly. The maximum storage capacity of the dam is 142 feet.
