THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Women's Commission on Friday recorded the statement of Anupama in connection with the adoption controversy. Anupama explained her part during the commission adalat held at Jawahar Bal Bhavan yesterday. Anupama's parents, who are opponents in the case, did not appear before the women's commission. They informed the Commission in writing that they were not appearing as the court was considering the case.
Anupama said that her education certificates and identity documents were being withheld by her parents. Following her request for the documents, the Women's Commission instructed her parents to produce the documents at the headquarters of the Commission before 3 pm on Saturday.
The Women's Commission has sent letters to the police, the Child Welfare Committee and the Department of Women and Child Development asking them to produce a detailed report regarding the complaint. Commission Chairman Adv. P. Sathidevi, members Adv. MS Thara, EM Radha, Adv. Shiji Shivaji, Shahida Kamal, Director Shaji Sugunan, Law Officer P. Girija attended the adalat.
Anupama told the media that the proceedings of the Women's Commission on the complaint were progressing well.
