PALAKKAD: A scuffle broke out at Sultanpet Junction in Palakkad during the motor stoppage protest staged by the congress. A verbal dispute broke out between V K Sreekandan MP and the police.

Sreekandan alleged that the police manhandled him. He said the place was announced in advance. Ramya Haridas MP also took part in the strike. The Congress' agitation against the fuel price hike was held at the district headquarters from 11 am to 11.15 am. The police are trying to remove the protestors.

Meantime, KPCC chief K Sudhakaran said the clash in Palakkad is quite natural. He added that those creating the clash is not those who organized the strike. Actor Joju George created the problems in Kochi, he said.

K Sudhakaran inaugurated the strike in the capital city. Opposition leader V D Satheesan did not attend the motor stoppage protest in Thiruvananthapuram. He had earlier expressed his protest against the road blockade.
