THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 7540 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Among these, 7077 persons developed the disease through contact, including 386 cases without an identified source of infection. 30 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 47 health workers contracted the disease on Wednesday.

7841 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 70,459 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 48 deaths due to the virus on Wednesday with the toll rising to 34,362.
