KOZHIKODE: CPM Kozhikode district secretary P Mohanan said that there was no change in the party's stand on the Pantheeramkavu UAPA case. He also said that both Alan and Thaha had Maoist connections even when they were in the CPM. Mohanan was responding to the criticisms raised during the Kozhikode South Area Committee meeting.
Both Alan and Thaha had worked under the CPM Kozhikode South Area Committee. Representatives who attended the area committee meeting wanted the party to reveal its stand on the case. P Mohanan clarified the party's stand in his reply to this question.
"There is no change in the party's stand on the UAPA issue. The party had looked into the matter by appointing an inquiry commission. It was found that both Alan and Thaha had connections Maoist connections even when they were in the CPM. That is why they were expelled from the party," Mohanan said.
