PATHANAMTHITTA: State police chief Anil Kant said tight security will be arranged for the Mandala-Makaravilakku festivals in Sabarimala. Crime Branch ADGP S Sreejith has been appointed as the chief police coordinator for security in and around Sabarimala. Southern Region IG Harshita Attaluri will be the joint coordinator. Armed Police Battalion DIG P Prakash and Thiruvananthapuram Range DIG Sanjay Kumar Gurudin are the additional coordinators.

Pathanamthitta SP R Nishanthini has been posted as Sabarimala special liaison officer. Information and Communication Technology SP Dr Divya V Gopinath will be in charge of the virtual queue.

Security has been beefed up at Sannidhanam, Pampa and Nilakkal in five phases.

The five phases are from November 15 to 30, November 30 to December 14, December 14 to 26, December 29 to January 9 and January 9 to 20. Three key officials will be in charge of security at Sannidhanam, Pampa and Nilakkal in each phase. The officials have also been selected for this.
