MALAPPURAM: The Muslim League is gearing up for a legal battle and strong agitation against the government's decision to hand over appointments to the Waqf board to the PSC. Mulsim League state general secretary PMA Salam, who said that the party would approach the high court on the issue, added that the issue will be discussed with various Muslim organizations at a leadership meeting to be held in Kozhikode on November 22.
"The government is showing anti-Muslim sentiment after coming to power with the votes of the Muslim community government. It is likely to handle the Waqf Board appointments in the same way it treated the minority scholarships issue. While the Devaswom Board appointments were made through a recruitment agency, the Waqf Board appointments were handed over to the PSC. The government is showing double standard," Salam said.
