KANNUR: A native of Peravoor died after his stepfather poured acid on him. The victim has been identified as Biju Chacko of Chenal in Manathana. He poured acid on Biju’s face over some property dispute. Biju also sustained hack injuries.

He died early Monday morning at a private hospital in Kozhikode. Biju was attacked on October 29. His stepfather fixed some stones on the road, stopped Biju who was in a jeep and then poured acid on his face.

When Biju tried to flee, the accused ran behind and hacked him on his hand. His stepfather Mankuzhi Jose (67) and his helper Sreedharan (58) have been remanded.
