KOCHI: Hotel owner Roy Vayalat appeared before the police for questioning in the accident that claimed the lives of three including former Miss Kerala and runner-up. Roy handed over a hard disk containing the CCTV footages of the hotel to the police. However, the police said that there was another hard disk in the hotel which has the footages including the day’s incident. The police asked him to produce it and the latter agreed to submit it. A notice asking Roy to appear for interrogation was issued after the intervention of the DGP. It is heard that the owner of the hotel has close association with the police and political bigwigs.

The police had yesterday questioned Saiju, who drove the Audi car K L 40 J 3333 Audi, who chased the models car as per the directive of Roy. Saiju had called the hotel staffs and Roy on that day after the accident. Saiju is a friend of Roy Vayalat.

Saiju told police that Ancy Kabeer and others were drunk and followed them to ask them not to drive under the influence of alcohol. The police have not taken this into confidence. There were indications that a DJ party was held at the hotel and that Ancy Kabeer and her gang left the hotel after an argument. Police also received information that Saiju and his friends returned immediately after seeing the car involved in the accident.
