KOCHI: Hotel owner Roy Vayalat on Thursday alleged that the police were trying to save Rahman, the person who drove the car that met with the accident resulting in the death of three, including former Miss Kerala Ansi Kabeer. In his bail application, Roy alleged that the police were trying to frame him and his employees in the case.

Accusing the police of trying to save Rahman, Roy's advocate stated that the destruction of the hard disk had nothing to do with the case. He also argued that the people who met with the accident had come to the party held at the hotel of their own will. "While Saiju, who chased the car, was released on bail, the police are still harassing Roy, a heart patient. The accident took place several kilometers away from the hotel. Even if the hotel employees admitted that the hard disk was destroyed what does it have to do with the accident? The police registered the case against Roy and hotel employees to save Rahman, the first accused in the case," the advocate said.

"Saiju, who drove the Audi car, has not yet been charged. Police have already said that Rahman drove the car under the influence of alcohol. Then how are the hotel employees and Roy related to this accident?" the advocate added.

Meanwhile, police said that liquor was served at the hotel even after the time limit. The police informed the court that they have found that the hard disk had been thrown into the lake.
