WAYANAD: A young man stabbed a girl in Wayanad following love failure. The victim is a second-year student of Oriental College in Lakkidi in Wayanad. Deepu, a native of Mannarkkad in Palakkad was taken into police custody.

The youth stabbed the Pulpally native student in the face with a knife. The girl sustained several cuts on her face. The attack took place near Lakkidi College. The injured student is undergoing treatment at Vaithiri Taluk Hospital. After attacking the girl, Deepu tried to commit suicide by cutting his wrist and was rushed to the Vythiri Taluk Hospital. Deepu came on a friend's bike. This friend has also been taken into police custody. It is learned that the condition of the girl is not serious.
