THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 4995 COVID-19 cases on Friday. Among these, 4706 persons developed the disease through contact, including 219 cases without an identified source of infection. 33 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 37 health workers contracted the disease on Friday.

4463 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 44,637 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 44 deaths due to the virus on Friday with the toll rising to 41,124.

Thiruvananthapuram 790, Ernakulam 770, Kozhikode 578, Kottayam 532, Thrissur 511, Kollam 372, Kannur 284, Pathanamthitta 243, Malappuram 205, Alappuzha 195, Wayanad 158, Idukki 148, Palakkad 130 and Kasaragod 79.
