THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rains are likely to lash the state today. The Meteorological Department has warned that there will be no impact of hurricane Jawad in Kerala and there are chances of isolated heavy showers.
Yellow alert has been sounded in seven districts. The yellow alert is in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Palakkad and Malappuram. These districts will receive 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rainfall in the next 24 hours.
Authorities warned of strong winds and thunderstorms. The disaster management authority warned of similar alert to the orange alert sounded in hilly areas and areas that received heavy rains in the previous days.
