Industrialist M A Yusuff Ali had met with a copter accident on April 11 this year. His copter crash landed into a swampy area at Kumbalam due to some technical snag. Rajesh and his wife Biju, staying nearby rushed to the spot to rescue him. Yusuff Ali came to meet the family who helped him. However, he did not come empty-handed.

A cheque of Rs 2.5 lakh and a watch were presented to Rajesh, a chain of 10 sovereigns was presented to his wife Biju along with a cheque of Rs 2.5 lakh. Sweets were presented to the couple’s one-year-old son Devadarshan. Lulu Group chairman Yusuff Ali directed his employees to present a gold chain for Rajesh’s cousin Vidya for her wedding. He visited the accident spot also. He also presented gifts to the owner of the place Peter Nicholas and his family.

‘They rushed to the spot when the accident happened. They helped me without knowing whom I am. Whatever I do will not be enough,’ he said.

When he was returning from there, Amina, a native of Kanjiramattom came to see him with a piece of paper in her hand. Amina's house is under threat of debt recovery for taking a loan of Rs 5 lakh. Yusuff Ali asked her not to worry and then directed his staff to take steps to avoid it.
