Thalayolaparambu natives Sreepriya and Sreelakshmi grew up together in the same house, got married on the same day, and last week each gave birth to a child of their own on the same day.

KOTTAYAM: The two sisters gave birth at the Caritas Hospital in Kottayam on the 29th, two hours apart. Dr Reji Nair of the Caritas hospital told Kerala Kaumudi that this was the first such experience.

Sreepriya and Sreelakshmi were born on October 11, 1995, to the late retd soldier Chandrasekharan Nair and Ambika Devi. They studied together from nursery to CA. Their marriages took place on December 11 at the same venue. Sreepriya is the wife of Kollam native Vinoop Pillai, manager at Parle-G company in Coimbatore. Sreelakshmi's husband Akashnath, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, is the owner of a supermarket.

It was Sreepriya who first got admitted to the hospital. Sreelakshmi was admitted to the hospital the very next day.
