KOTTAYAM: The police have started an investigation after a new born was found dead in a bucket of water. Mystery shrouds the death of the baby, born to Suresh and Nisha of Idakkunnam Mukkali. Only Nisha and her children were at home at the time of the incident. The baby was born on Sunday.

Nisha told police that she told her elder child to put the baby in the bucket after finding the baby motionless. The baby died is the sixth of Suresh, a painter and Nisha. Nisha is paralyzed and is not in a situation to walk. When a woman, their neighbour came hearing the cries of the baby, she was sent back in the name of Covid-19. On suspicion, she informed the Asha workers.

When the Asha workers came to their house with the officials of the health department, they knew that a delivery has happened. In a search conducted, found the body of the baby. Police have registered a case of unnatural death. Nisha has been admitted to the General Hospital and is under observation.
