VITHURA: A six-year-old boy met with a tragic death after he accidentally touched an earth wire near his house. The deceased has been identified as Sarang Sunil, son of Vithura native Sunilkumar and Priya. The incident took place at around 2 pm on Thursday.

Sarang was playing in the backyard with his twin brother Sourav when he received an electric shock after accidentally touching the earth wire. Though he was soon rushed to the Vithura Taluk Hospital, he could not be saved. The body has been shifted to the mortuary of Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.
